Happy 2nd birthday, Thomas!!!!

I can't even believe that the tiny little baby that it seems like I just brought home from the hospital is already TWO! These past 2 years have flown right by and I couldn't ask for a better 2-year old! We had a really fun-filled second birthday planned for him, and it turned out absolutely perfect! This first picture is when he just woke up on his Second Birthday! What a sweet boy...

We had an amusing breakfast and unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of it, but my mom and dad (Nanny and Papa to Thomas) met us at IHOP for breakfast, and that was how we started out the day! It was so much fun, and Thomas was much more interested in his new hot wheels that they brought to him than his breakfast if you can believe it! Then Bobby, Thomas, and I headed out for a family day at the zoo- one of our favorite places to be!
The lady at the ticket counter even gave Thomas a free pass to ride the carousel when Bobby told her it was his birthday. He absolutely loves carousels, and squeals with delight just about the whole ride!
Thomas was delighted that right outside of the restaurant where we stopped to get something to drink and take a rest, there was a tractor working to clear out an exhibit! If nothing else fun would have happened the entire day, that would have been just fine with him... he got to see a tractor working after all!!!
We also rode the tram (another favorite activity) back and forth from the botanical gardens...

Poor guy didn't even make it out of the parking lot of the zoo before he passed out. We woke him up for lunch at McAlisters Deli about 10 minutes after this picture was taken, he ate a big lunch, and promptly fell asleep again as soon as he got back in his car seat!
This picture was taken when he woke up from his nap... ready for more birthday celebrations!
The last part of his birthday was spent with family at my mom's house. We grilled steaks with the fixin's and had an ice cream birthday cake!
Thomas and his cousin, Landon, used sidewalk chalk to make lots of pictures for us!

This was Thomas' new John Deere tractor that Bobby and I gave him with the trailer that Nanny and Papa got for him!
Happy second birthday to our favorite little guy! Dada and I feel like the luckiest parents ever to call you our son, and we love you so much! Thank you so much, Thomas, for filling our days with laughter and our nights with lots of good sleep! We couldn't be more proud! Don't ever forget how much we love you!

Worshipful Wednesday

Click on the link below to hear a great song that really touched me this morning. I am going to try and keep up with the "Worshipful Wednesday" posts every week. I absolutely love worship music and can often be spotted with my hands raised driving down the road singing at the top of my lungs! I thought it would be great to post a worship song in the middle of the week as a way to uplift all of us... I know I could use it! So, cut the sound up on your computer and enjoy!

Blossom Bebe

A friend of mine from highschool, Marni, has started making children's clothes and that are oh so yummy! This is our latest outfit that we have ordered from her, and I absolutely love it. It is a really cute design and the shorts in particular are really, really comfy for a toddler on the go. Don't you love how cute this is? To see this and all of her other creations for boys and girls, visit her website at www.blossombebe.etsy.com ... you will fall in love too! I have 2 more outfits on order from her and I will post pics of those as well...

First Day of School

I enrolled Thomas in a little Preschool program at Providence Luthern Church in Lexington just one day a week for now. I wasn't nervous at all about him going and I was really excited for him to get to play for a few hours with kids his own age. Several of my friends have their kids enrolled there and everyone had nothing but great things to say about the program and teachers. Thomas has never once struggled with seperation anxiety when we have left him anywhere and we have left him in lots of different nursery situations over the past 2 years. So, his official first day of school was suppose to be April 15th, but he was sick with a cold and ear infection... ick! So the next Wednesday I got up early and got him all packed up and clothes laid out and then woke him up. Yes- I did say I had to wake him up! For those of you that I have not bragged to (if there are any of you out there), he sleeps most nights from 8:30pm-8:30am! Are we lucky or what??? So, anyway, I woke him up about 8:15... look at that sweet thing...

... I got him all dressed up (it just happened to be picture day at school), fed him a good breakfast, and we hit the road! I was really excited, but I guess I should have known from this face that it wasn't going to be a good day...

When we drove up at the school, he started babbling away and threw his blankets out of his carseat like he was really excited too. We got out of the car and he ran straight into the church and right to his classroom. The preschool director asked me if I was sure I wanted to go in his room with him and I told her it was no problem that he was going to be just fine. Little did I know that about 30 seconds later he was going to be putting on the brakes and refusing to go into his room. I really couldn't believe it. I picked him up and took him into his room and showed him the choo-choo trains and some dinosaurs and (yay!) he started playing with them. So, I took the opportunity to try and sneak out and he caught me and wrapped his arms around my leg and wouldn't let go. The poor teacher had to pry him off of my pants and hold him kicking and screaming while I quickly made my way out of the room. He didn't cry like that the entire time, but when I went to pick him up they said he was like that off and on throughout the day. I even picked him up outside on the playground and he was crying! Poor guy- I have no idea what got into him, but hardly before we got out of the parking lot, I turned around in my seat to find this...

I think he must have just been having an off morning because the very next day when I left him in the nursery at Mt. Horeb where I attend a ladies bible study, he went right in and didn't even look back. I even had to chase him down to put his name tag on his back! Who knows- this is such a crazy age! Luckily his second day at school was much, much better. He watched me leave, so I was afraid that he was going to cry, but he did just fine!

Tractors!!!

Thomas loves tractors of any shape and size and is always pointing them out to us when we are driving or out and about. He has this squeal that could wake the dead and gets so excited. So, imagine our excitement when we learned of a tractor show coming up in Gilbert! My parents took him and Bobby and I tagged along a little later that morning. Here are some pics of his fun day playing on tractors...
