Family Beach Trip 2009

We spent last week at Folly Beach and had the most relaxing time! We got there on Saturday, went to Walmart and Piggly Wiggly on Sunday, and didn't leave the house again until this past Saturday! Talk about a vacation! My parents joined us and man oh man did we have a great time! This was Thomas' first trip to the beach, so we were a little unsure how he would do, and he loved it! I am so glad because I love the beach too and it would have made for a very long week if he hadn't! I am still weeding through a million beach pictures and videos, so this is just a few, but check back in hopefully later this week for more!

He is ready to go to the beach... or the pool as he called it!

My little surfer dude! He loved the ocean!
He just started saying, "Cheese", so that is the face he would make for all of his pictures!

The anchor for my soul...

This post is probably more for me than anyone else, but I hope that you find it encouraging! I have had an off day today and have been dealing with a lot of disappointment. I know that it is the devil trying to get a foothold, and he almost got me today. Anyway, I am really struggling, and just when I was about to make a big mistake, this song popped on the radio. I mean in the same instant I was about to do something really dumb and devil-like! If that isn't a God-thing, I don't know what you call it. I calmed down the minute I heard the first couple of words and just chuckled to myself because I knew that God was speaking directly to me... and it worked! This song by Chris Tomlin came on WMHK. I have heard it many, many times before, but it really spoke to me today. I have listened to it over and over again on You Tube, so I decided I would post it on here in case any of my friends needed it as well. The line that spoke to me most of all I have never even given a second thought about before. Near the beginning, the line reads, "There's an ANCHOR for my soul. I can say it is well." WOW- that hit me like a ton of bricks! I will post the lyrics below, and I hope that you enjoy the video!

There's a peace I've come to know

Though my heart and flesh may fail

There's an anchor for my soul

I can say it is well

Jesus has overcome

And the grave is overwhelmed

The victory is won

He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name

No more sorrow, no more pain

I will rise on eagle's wings

Before my God fall on my knees and rise

I will rise

There's a day that's drawing near

When this darkness breaks to light

And the shadows disappear

And my faith shall be my eyes

Jesus has overcome

And the grave is overwhelmed

The victory is won

He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name

No more sorrow no more pain

I will rise on eagle's wings

Before my God, fall on my knees and rise

I will rise

I will rise

And I hear the voice of many angels sing

Worthy is the Lamb

And I hear the cry of every longing heart

Worthy is the Lamb

And I hear the voice of many angels sing

Worthy is the Lamb

And I hear the cry of every longing heart

Worthy is the lamb

Worthy is the lamb

I will rise when he calls my name

No more sorrow, no more pain

I will rise on eagle's wings

Before my God, fall on my knees and rise

I will rise

I will rise

I will rise...

God, thank you for speaking to me today!

Choo-Choo Train

Anyone who knows my Thomas knows how much he loves choo-choo trains! Bobby and I took him to the zoo just recently and he and I rode the train... he loved it! Click on this video to see his experience!

My little fish...

Thomas is loving swimming in Nanny and Papa's pool almost every day this summer! My mom found this swimsuit online, and I thought it was hideous looking! I swore my child would never wear that in my presence, but now I love it and he has even worn it in public! It has styrofoam inserts that go all around it that make him stay afloat, and it is just the best thing. He swims all around the pool and it gives him as well as the adults such freedom! Here are a couple of videos of my little fish swimming. I will have to take more up-to-date videos soon because now he even uses his arms to paddle and get where he needs to go!

Some videos from Thomas' birthday party in NC

Thomas' Second 2nd Birthday Party...

Thomas is one lucky little boy! This year, once again, he had 2 birthday parties!!! This one was hosted by Bobby's Aunt Juanita and Uncle Greg in North Carolina for that side of the family to be able to celebrate with us! It was a day filled with lots of family time and great fun!

Didn't Juanita do a fabulous job with his cake? She made the icing look like grass and then had the John Deere tractors on top of that. What a great idea! Also, I was having trouble with my baby turning 2, so they put a "24" on the cake for 24 months! Very creative... and yummy!

Of course, since the icing looked like grass, Thomas had to mow it, right?

The chaos that ensued after dinner was something to behold. Bobby's mom bought a case of silly string and the entire party got into it! Bobby's cousin, Tammy, even gave a can to Thomas and showed him how to spray it...

Aunt Minnie is a great sport, and it is a good thing because there is no telling how long it took her to get silly string out of her hair and off of her clothes after all the kids (and some of the adults) attacked her!

We had a fabulous day, and we appreciate everyone who came out to celebrate our little guys 2nd birthday! He is so lucky to have so many people who love him!

Play time with Dada...

On second thought, this post should have been titled, "Dada's Taxi Service", because it doesn't look as if there is much play going on- just Bobby pulling Thomas around on the garden cart while Thomas took a water break!

Tonka Dumptrucks... How could he ask for more?

Here is my tough guy playing with his new Tonka Dump Truck! I sure hope his sister is going to be into John Deere and Tonka because trucks and tractors have taken over our house!

The Next Great Baseball Player...

Don't worry, you will be hearing his name soon as the next draft pick for the Cubs or the Braves or some other famous team like that! Here is the evidence:
